Factory Assisted Kit Aircraft Program

The factory is supporting builders to build and assemble their own SportCruiser right at the factory!

Here’s how it works

According to the EAS, LAA and FAA rules an aircraft built from a kit is eligible for amateur-built certification provided the major portion (51%) has been fabricated and assembled by the amateur builder. An amateur builder is defined as an individual who builds an aircraft solely for recreational or educational purposes. A builder may obtain building assistance so long as the major portion (51%) has been fabricated and assembled by the amateur builder.

 Plug and Play Engine Installation

Full technical and educational assistance can be provided onsite by the factory staff. The time to build and complete the airframe is four weeks, working eight hour days. Construction begins with the SportCruiser Quick Build Kit, and once the airframe is completed, factory can help complete the aircraft without the customer being onsite: This includes engine installation, electrics, avionics, upholstery and painting. This takes factory one week to complete. The customer installs the wings and tail section to the fuselage in week seven and the aircraft is then test flown at the factory by a trained test pilot.

The total cost of the onsite Factory-Assisted Kit Aircraft Program includes

  • SportCruiser Quick-Build kit
  • Firewall-forward Kit
  • Electrical System Kit
  • Basic VFR / Engine Instrument Package
  • Factory-new Rotax 912ULS Engine
  • Fixed-pitch Woodcomp Propeller with Spinner
  • 2-Tone Painting

Additional kit options are available at additional cost.
